Food and meals
Three buffet meals a day, included in your fee, with a dedicated halal station in the dining hall.
Nobody chooses a language school for the food, and everybody notices it by the third day. You will eat here roughly twenty times a week, so it is worth knowing what that actually looks like before you book.
Meals are part of your course fee rather than an extra, they are served buffet style in the dining hall, and there is a dedicated halal station. The photographs on this page are of real meals on this campus, not stock images of somebody else's buffet.
When meals are served
Weekdays
Weekends and holidays
Breakfast finishing at 8:20 AM is deliberate. It leaves enough time to eat sitting down before a first class rather than carrying something out of the door, which is the small daily difference between a schedule that works and one that grinds.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Breakfast
40 photosServed early enough to eat properly before a first class, which is not true of every school.
Lunch
22 photosThe middle of the study day, and the meal where the dining hall is at its loudest.
Dinner
19 photosThe unhurried one. Most people eat with the same handful of friends by the second week.
A dedicated halal station
The dining hall runs a halal station, which means Muslim students eat on campus with everybody else rather than arranging meals separately or going off campus three times a day. That sounds like a small thing until you have tried to study somewhere it is not true.
If you have any other dietary requirement, tell the admissions team when you apply so the kitchen knows before you arrive.
Coffee, snacks and everything else
The dining hall itself
Open from 6:00 AM to midnight, so it is a study and talking spot as much as an eating one.
Tell us what you need
The single most useful thing you can do about food is mention it on your application rather than on your first morning. Halal is already provided for. Anything else, from an allergy to a preference, is far easier to arrange when the kitchen has notice.
We would rather leave a question unanswered here than answer it wrongly, so this page does not list which specific diets the kitchen can cater for. Ask us with your actual requirement and you will get a real answer instead of a general one.
Food questions we get asked
Are meals included in the course fee?
Is halal food available?
What time are meals served?
I have a dietary requirement. What should I do?
Can I get food outside meal times?
Eating here for a few months?
Tell the admissions team your dates and any dietary requirement when you apply, and it is handled before you land. If you want to see more of the campus first, the photo gallery has the rest.
