Hello, I’m Ryota. I’m from Japan. At A&J, I took the “Crazy ESL” course and studied here for two months. Last year, while I was on a working holiday in Australia, I experienced the joy of communicating with people from various countries through English. That experience motivated me to improve my English even more, so I decided to study abroad in the Philippines this time.

.......the biggest reason was that the agent recommended it to me. But as I researched more, I became more interested in A&J’s speaking-focused curriculum, small class sizes, and friendly teachers. Also, having Japanese staff on-site gave me reassurance, which was important since this was my first time studying abroad. After actually coming here, I felt the atmosphere was even more homey than I expected, and it suits me well.

The daily life here is what remains with me the most. After classes, talking with friends in the living room, or chatting in English naturally while eating together—those moments increased my opportunities to speak English. At first both sides were shy, but we gradually opened up, and I was surprised at how comfortable I became. Even daily activities became training for English. I’m also glad that I could learn not only inside class but from teachers and friends outside class as well.

The teachers were incredibly kind and always taught in a way that was easy to understand. They corrected my mistakes carefully and showed interest in what I wanted to talk about, which made classes enjoyable. They didn’t just teach English—they encouraged me and made me want to keep improving. Every lesson felt fun, and I could feel my English getting better little by little.

I want to raise my English level as much as possible, so I’m thinking about returning to the Philippines to study again if I find the opportunity.
