Hello, I’m SHINTARO. I took the two-month Working Holiday Preparation Course at A&J to prepare for a working holiday in the UK. I wasn’t very good at English at first, but spending time with friends from different countries was fun. I learned not just English, but also the joy of communicating. I want to use my experience at A&J and keep doing my best, step by step.

When choosing a language school, many people look at big companies and new buildings. But for me, the most important thing was the people I would study with and how close I could feel to them. A&J feels homey, and I was able to get comfortable with the teachers and staff quickly. I also liked that there aren’t many Japanese students, because I wanted to be in an environment where I had to use English.

I have many memories, but one of the best was when we all played charades during a school activity. We laughed a lot together, even though we were from different countries and ages. Another memory I treasure is the delicious food. While I was in Baguio, the meals at the A&J dorm made me feel safe and happy, and I looked forward to them every day.

All the teachers were kind and listened patiently to my concerns. They were flexible when I explained how I wanted to learn, which helped me adapt lessons to my needs. Even if I didn’t get along with a teacher, I could switch, so I could study comfortably. I think the high quality of the teachers is one of A&J’s best features.

I’m planning a working holiday in the UK. A&J helped me gain confidence in English, so I feel ready to try new things. I’m a little nervous, but I want to do my best using what I learned at A&J.
