There are many places where you can study English in the Philippines. We have ESL Baguio schools, Cebu, Iloilo, and Manila etc. You can also study IELTS, TOEIC, and TOEFL in these places.
I am Jin from Korea and I am delighted to share my experience studying at A&J e-Edu Academy. This is one of the schools where you can study English in the Philippines. The academy is located in Baguio City. The course I registered was IELTS. And I studied in the academy for 12 weeks. Before studying at A&J, I studied at another language school. Due to the short time, my first exam score was not ideal. When I was looking for another school, my friend recommended me A&J e-Edu Academy. To be honest, adjusting to a new environment and to people was quite a challenge for me because I am an introverted person. But my classmates and teachers here were very friendly and enthusiastic, helping me quickly to integrate into this place. I have registered for a month’s course here under the ESL program to refresh myself in using English and also to sharpen my foundation skills. After a month, I jumped right to IELTS, which has made great progress for me.
The main reason why I made such progress is its classes are all one-on-one, making the teacher focus on me during the class and pointing out my weaknesses. My weaknesses are reading and listening, and the teacher worked very hard to help me remember words and practice listening and understanding accents from different countries. Teachers provided advices when taking the IELTS test. For one month of studying IELTS, I felt that I was starting to grasp the idea on how to take the test. After three months of continuous studying and taking practice tests, I went from 4.0 to 5.5, which gave me a lot of encouragement. I was also surprised of how much I improved.
Baguio is a great place for learning. It doesn’t feel hot all year round, and there is always cool weather. In addition to this is it is close to many famous tourist attractions. A lot of tourists, both foreign and local, come to visit Baguio City almost the whole year, giving us the chance to actually sometimes have a conversation with them and also just merely touring around the city and enjoying the sceneries, local foods, and culture. When it comes to the academy, the environment, manager, classmates, and teachers of are all good. This is a place where everyone wants to improve their learning, so people from different countries gather together to study, learn, and practice their skills. What I like the most is the chance the academy gives us to choose the classroom we want to study in during our self-study time. During our self-study time, we can review, do our homework, and also a chance to relax and ponder on things. With regards to the teachers, they track our progress and understand my situation during class. With this, they can develop different learning methods for me. This applies to all teachers which is good because as we know, students have different levels and learning patterns. This is also a good factor of the academy. Teachers are very considerate when it comes to adjusting their lessons and their teaching methods.
Overall, studying and living in A&J is very fulfilling, and I am very grateful for the high-quality teaching and learning environment provided by the school. The school may not be as big as others but I believe that studying here will lead to better improvement and help me with my future. As A&J e-Edu says, Build your future!
