I just completed my 11th grade before coming to the Philippines to study English because I realized that I need to improve my English skills for me to study in an international university in Australia. My dream is to enjoy all cuisines of the world. For me to achieve my dream, I have to study English.\n\nI choose A&J Academy because of the 1:1 class. In addition, talking with friends made me use English every day. Because of that, I could improve my English ability. Moreover, my roommates are from different countries. I have Korean, Taiwanese, and Arabic. This made me talk with them in English every time we were in our room and even outside. A&J Teachers taught me new skills and when I made pronunciation mistakes, they corrected me and explained my mistakes in detail. They also corrected my grammar. I really felt great in all of my classes, especially my class with T. Jake. I like his class the most because he knows my weakest skill, which is writing, and he helped me a lot to improve. We also had conversations outside the class. This made me really happy.\nThe thing that left the most impression on me during my time in the school was the friendliness of the people there. The school staff and teachers treat each other with love and respect. Also, my favorite sports is basketball. So, I and the school staff often played basketball at the school\u2019s basketball court. I previously worked for an outdoor store in Japan for 4 years.\nI took the Guaranteed Working Holiday course at A&J Academy for 3 months.\nI am now 29 years old and going to Australia for  working holiday.\nthe best memory I have is that I made a lot of friends! Maybe it was my personality, or maybe it was because I was tall and stood out, but everyone was very open to talking to me.\nThis gave us a chance to talk to each other about who we were and deepen our friendship. I felt that the small size of the school  made it easier to make friends. I thought I could make friends more deeply because I had more opportunities to talk to one person when the school was small.\nAt A&J, there were about 30 students when I enrolled in the school in April, so my friends would talk to their new friends and the circle would expand. I had a chance to talk with my friends and with those who were friends of my friends, and that kind of environment was created. I thought this school provided an environment where friends grow more and deeper.\nSecondly, I remember that I was able to gain practical experience by actually serving customers in English at a restaurant where I had OJT during the working holiday course.\nI was very happy when customers thanked me. My previous job was in the service industry, so I was able to make use of that.\nMy English was not very good, and I was asked many times by customers to repeat what I had said, but everyone was very kind and helped me out.\nIt gave me a chance to think about how I could improve my English, and the staff were friendly and talked to me a lot, which gave me a chance to learn about Filipino culture.\nMoreover, the teachers are very kind. Many of the teachers taught English in a plain and easy-to-understand way.\nI was impressed that when they pointed out mistakes, they did not just say, \u201cYou are wrong,\u201d but told us specifically what was wrong and how we should improve. The teachers were very close to each other, so the distance between teacher and teacher and between teacher and student was very close, and we were able to have frank conversations in class.\nWe often had free talk in class without using textbooks, and through the output there, I was able to point out mistakes and learn new expressions. I talked with the teacher while taking notes in class. In addition, if my initial level was beginner, I feel that I am now intermediate.\nIn fact, I was low-intermediate at first on the placement test, but three months later I was high-intermediate on the evaluation test.\nThrough this study abroad program, I think I was able to develop my ability to speak English on the spur of the moment. At first, I translated Japanese to English in my head and think, \u201cHow should I say this in English?\u201d I would sometimes pause for 30 seconds while thinking about it, but now I can think about it in 3 to 5 seconds, which is faster. I chose to come to Baguio because of cool climate, friendly locals, and rich cultural heritage. It is a great place to learn and explore. I found A&J through the internet. The school is known for its excellent English programs and supportive leaning environment. I chose to study English in A&J because it accepts minimal number of students. I like to study in an environment with few people. It also offers one-on-one classes for 8 hours with Filipino teaches, native teacher, and group classes. My experience at A&J was great. I had fun in my classes and got better at English. I liked hanging out with other students and other talking with friendly teachers. Also, the food was to my liking. It was appetizing. The rooms were cozy and the study rooms were comfortable which made everything better. The teachers at A&J were amazing. They are knowledgeable, patient, and truly cared about the success of their students. They are truly dedicated.
